3 equipment I use during aquarium maintenance
1) Net (small and big)
A good net goes a long way, I usually use different length of net for different purposes.
Long net for as my go to daily use for netting anything out
Short net is use during selection and packing process.
I do also use big nets during reset whenever needed, it helps speed things up quite a bit.
I also realize that different color nets on certain shrimp they do react differently for example when I use a Yellow net on a red shrimp, they tend to dart around more. I’ cannot be conclusive on the test but I do find a greenish net do help a lot.
A net is like an extension of your arms where it helps you do your work without putting in your hand too much. So invest in a good net, I do change them quite regularly and re-purpose the net into a substrate leveler.
2) Sponges and cloth
The importance of these is use when we need to clean the surfaces of the equipment and we have been trying to see which are some of the better product on the market that can help us achieve that.
Sponges we tried many types and they don’t quite last and have to replace them like we do at home while washing plates (yes we don’t use a dishwasher in Asia)
Cloth is also very important part where clean the tanks and wipe your hands.
3) Breeder box
A good breeder box is needed and I’m in the process of trying to find something that does work very well for me.
