In the summer of 2016 Beşiktaş loaned a young Brazilian player from Portuguese giants Benfica: Anderson Talisca. Fans were hyped as he was seen as a very big talent, Beşiktaş secured him on a two season loan and even had an option to buy him for the staggering amount of €25m.
On his debu for Beşiktaş in the Champions League, the young Brazilian did the unthinkable, he silenced the Estadio da Luz in the 90th minute by scoring a stunning freekick against his parent club Benfica to clinch a point at the death for the Black Eagles.
Fast forward two years and Anderson Talisca has been pivotal in winning a second consecutive championship for the Black Eagles aswell as playing an important part in their unforgettable European runs in the Europa League (2016-2017) and Champions League (2017-2018). But in the summer of 2018, he left Beşiktaş and went to China. Eversince then, without exception, his name has been linked to a Beşiktaş return in every transfer window.
A lot of Beşiktaş fans, to this day, want to see him wear the black and white jersey again. But SHOULD Beşiktaş bring him back? Do the Black Eagles even need him at this point, is it too big of a risk having played at a lower level for all these years and is it financially responsible?
