Blocking in Volleyball - Starting Hand Positioning
Should your blockers start with their hands down or up when setting up at the net? In this video we demonstrate both options. Ultimately this comes down to pass quality. If you are dealing with a really good passing team that is middle dependent, perhaps having your hands higher is better (while still being able to move fast side to side). If you are facing a team that never sets the quick, you could easily justify starting with your hands in a lower position.
