Before you can install Exchange Server 2019, make sure your Windows Server 2019 environment meets the requirements. To begin, a domain controller running Windows Server 2012 R2 or later is required. On all servers that will host Exchange components, you must also install the most recent cumulative updates for the.NET Framework, VC++ Redistributable Package, and Unified Communications Managed API (UCMA).

In addition to these requirements, Exchange Server 2019 requires an Active Directory Forest Functional Level of at least Windows Server 2012 R2 or higher. Additionally, before installing Exchange, you may need to prepare your Active Directory schema by running the ADPrep command.
