A day in St. Petersburg: rare Alrosa flight, Sevkabel port, and Brusnitsyn
I take a rare Alrosa Airlines flight from Vnukovo Airport in Moscow to St. Petersburg for a one-day trip. Upon arriving in Pulkovo, I catch a bus to Sevkabel Port and explore the new Brusnitsyn space before returning to Vnukovo on a Rossiya Airlines (Aeroflot) Superjet.
The video starts with a drive along Kiev Highway, where you can watch planes approaching Vnukovo. Stopping at Vnukovo Outlet Village offers a close-up view of landing planes. I park at the official city parking near the hotel, which can be checked via the Moscow Parking app.
Inside Vnukovo terminal, I get my boarding pass and watch various aircraft taking off and landing, including Azur Air, SCAT from Astana, Somon Air from Dushanbe, and several Pobeda and UTair planes. We board the Alrosa flight via bus. This flight from Mirny to St. Petersburg stops in Moscow, with tickets sold for the Moscow-St. Petersburg leg.
At Pulkovo, our plane parks at a remote stand, as the return flight to Mirny is the next day. I spot a NordStar plane and an S7 Airlines aircraft in street art livery, previously featured in my Volgograd video.
Deciding against an expensive taxi to Sevkabel Port, I take bus 39 to Moskovskaya metro station, transfer to the metro, and ride to Vasileostrovskaya station, followed by an electric bus to Sevkabel Port. I explore the area, visit Brusnitsyn, and watch fishermen catching smelt on the ice, a sign of the upcoming smelt season in St. Petersburg.
Returning to Pulkovo, I observe takeoffs and landings from the second-floor car ramp before flying back to Moscow on a Rossiya Airlines Superjet.
