If you want to add a background color to the entire header area (not just the text), you can follow these steps:
Access the Header:
Double-click on the header area.
Insert a Shape:
Go to the "Insert" tab, click on "Shapes," and select a rectangle.
Draw the Shape:
Draw the rectangle to cover the entire header area.
Format the Shape:
With the shape selected, go to the "Format" tab. Choose "Shape Fill" to select your desired color. Adjust the shape's position and size as needed.
Send Shape to Back:
While still in the "Format" tab, click on "Send Backward" or "Send to Back" so the text in your header appears in front of the shape.
Exit Header Editing Mode:
Double-click outside the header area to return to the main document.
By following these steps, you can easily change the header color in Microsoft Word to suit your needs.
