Three times he missed the All-Star game due to playing in the Olympics (2006, 2010, 2014) and four All-Star games were missed due to injuries (2008, 2009, 2011, 2012).
Looking back specifically at the 2008 All-Star game that Sidney Crosby missed due to a high ankle sprain was his second time receiving the nomination. Although he did not play, his jersey was still made and Frameworth Sports was able to obtain a select number of them.
