A little demo of what I have made messing about in Unreal over the last few weeks. As you can see it's pretty nice overall. Of course it's easy to make simple demos in comparison to an actual game, but shows potential even for people who have never even attempted a game before.
I've looked at Unreal previously mind, so it's not exactly a first time demo. You can expect two things when first trying it. Amazing demos you can easily run and frustration that it is so complicated to use properly. Believe me, I have some experience of making games over the years, but Unreal is a little difficult to get into coding wise. So many commands and so little knowledge of what they are :(
For me, blueprints are weird. I can sort of understand them, but as I always discarded flow charts when programming, hard to go back to that sort of visualisation. Back in the day, I saw no need for flow charts and of course for simple games they were not needed. Nowadays, it makes more sense as games can be very complex, but it's hard to change after so long :(
But if you are interested in Unreal and wonder what you can do quite quickly, here you are!
Wow, got a copyright claim instantly. Not massively surprising, but still annoying. If anyone makes money from my vid there welcome to it.
