Anthrax Island refers to the remote British island of Gruinard, which was used for biological warfare experiments during World War II. The British government tested anthrax, a deadly bacterial disease, on Gruinard Island to study its effects and develop defenses. The island was contaminated with anthrax spores, rendering it uninhabitable for several decades. It wasn’t until 1986 that decontamination efforts were undertaken, and the island was declared safe for use again in 1990
