Lockheed Martin video of the Aug 2, 2010, first flight of its contender for the US Army's Joint Air-Ground Missile (JAGM) program to replace Hellfire. The JAGM was fired from a static launch rail. The semi-active laser sensor guided the missile to a direct hit against a stationary target at a distance of 16 kilometers -- the required maximum range from rotary-wing platforms. In addition to the semi-active laser, the JAGM seeker includes imaging-infrared and millimeter-wave radar sensors. While this test required a SAL-only engagement, all three sensor modes of the tri-mode seeker operated in unison to collect data.
