Chapter 2 Getting to Know Java
In this chapter, we will provide you with a bird’s eye overview on the Java technology. We will kick off by presenting a short history of Java. We will discuss its key features and take a look under the hood of the Java technology stack. We will then zoom into the Java Language structure and conclude the chapter by reviewing Java Data Types.
It is important to note that this chapter lays the foundation for subsequent chapters and many of the concepts and ideas presented here will be elaborated further on as we proceed through the course.
