Anna Soubry was left angered after a joke from Michael Gove resulted in the House of Commons roaring with laughter.

Former Tory member Anna Soubry broke into a rant on another Brexit vote last night while in the House of Commons.

She began her rant by saying: ‘The cat is now out of the bag Mr Speaker.

“Of his own admission, this motion does not take no deal off the table.

After her complaints, Michael Gove took the opportunity to make a dig at Mrs Soubry legal past claiming that he “now knows why Lawyers would get paid by the hour”.

Mr Gove said: “The right Honourable lady is a distinguished criminal barrister.

“Now I know what it is like to be cross-examined by her.

“But I also understand why Lawyers are paid by the hour.”

After this comment, the Tory defector immediately called for a point of order to respond to Mr Gove.

Mr Gove then paused as the House of Commons erupted in laughter and cheers.

The Tory defector then arose from her seat while folding her arms seemingly unimpressed and called for a point of order.
