During cold weather, when it is too early to put on a hat, and without it there is wind in the ears, a headband is suitable. This fashionable accessory not only protects from the cold, but also becomes a decoration. The headband will also keep your hair in place and will suit both long and short hair.
In winter, it can be wide and knitted from warm yarn or sewn from thick knitwear. It can also be fur. In spring and early autumn, the bandage is narrower and thinner.
This item will go with any outerwear: jacket, coat, fur coat.
Knitted headbands look beautiful and feminine. Knitting gives you a huge scope for creativity, as you can choose a variety of patterns. A weave in the middle will look good.
To prevent the headband from falling off, you need to measure your head circumference (56 cm) and knit it to that length, and choose any width.
For my headband, I cast on 42 stitches and used 1 knit and 1 purl rib stitch. The number of loops depends on the thickness of the yarn. Thanks to this knitting, the product will be dense, as if double, and also have a little spring.
My knitting consists of 3 parts. When I knitted 18 cm, I changed a third of the knitting bandage.
I knitted 14 loops, turned around and knitted this strip, 18 cm long. For this I took an additional knitting needle. The remaining 28 stitches remained on the original needle.
I cut the thread and tied it to the second strip. I knitted another strip, the same as the first.
Next is the third.
Now I braided these strips into a braid and connected all the loops in one row.
I knitted another 18 cm with an elastic band and closed the loops, as a result the total length of the strip turned out to be slightly less than 56 cm, the weave took a couple of centimeters and this is good, since the bandage should stretch and fit tightly to the head. As you wear it, the fabric loosens and stretches a little.
I made a seam at the back.
This knitted creation is warm, wide, and ideal for women of any age.
