I recently went on a family holiday to Spain and put the car on a Brittany Ferries ferry (the Cap Finistere) from Portsmouth in the UK to Bilbao in northern Spain. This is a 24-hour overnight crossing which requires staying in a cabin. My cabin slept four people (it wasn't conventional bunk beds but it was two up, two down) and this video gives a tour of that cabin (including the bathroom and cupboards etc.) and shows how the top bunks are stowed during the day. On this inside look review video I also show the whole ferry, from its swimming pool (yes, it unbelievably has a pool!) to the bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and evening entertainment. Suffice to say that this was more like a mini cruise than a ferry journey! It's almost worth doing just for the journey, but hey, once you're in Spain, you might as well explore. I've done other videos of my time in Spain - one on the whole Cantabria region and one on the Picos de Europa Mountains and National Park which we also explored. This really is a wonderful, authentic region of Spain which is quiet and not overrun by tourists at all. This is nothing like the Costa del Sol or other Costas! We took the ferry to Bilbao, but next time I would travel to Santander instead - it's closer to where we wanted to be!
