On this channel, we give you descriptions of photos in English every Monday through Friday, so that you can build your vocabulary and communicate with the world! Describing pictures can be a valuable exercise. These also can be used for exam preparation or simply for fun.
Written Description: Unfortunately, this is an all too common sight in the autumn of 2020. In this photo, we can see a male nurse doing a Covid-19 test on an elderly woman. The man is doing a swab test. This is a swab. It actually looks much shorter than the ones we often see these days. The nurse is wearing a variety of PPE - personal protective equipment. The acronym is PPE. This includes a surgical mask, a face shield, gloves, a hair cover and a fluid resistant gown. The woman has her head tilted slightly backwards and is getting ready for the test. Will her results be positive or negative? At least she’ll know soon…
