Learn how to create high quality HDR images in Lightroom Classic with a few easy steps.

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. An HDR photo is simply a set of exposure bracketed photos that are combined into a single image. This editing technique is useful for landscape photographers who want to capture all of the tonal data in a high contrast scene.

HDR photography is particularly useful when you need to shoot into the sun or direct light source.

Creating an HDR image in Lightroom Classic is very easy. This quick video will walk you through he entire process in less than five minutes!

Once you have a set of bracketed photos, navigate to them in the Lightroom catalog.

Next, you'll want to select all of the photos in the bracketed series. You can do this by clicking the first image in the sequence and shift clicking on the last image in the sequence.

Then, Control Click (Mac) or Right Click (PC) and navigate to Photo Merge - HDR.

The HDR dialog box will pop up with a few settings that I will go over in the video. Once you have the settings that you like, click "Merge" and you're newly created HDR photo will populate in your Lightroom Catalog.

Finally, you are ready to edit your image with extended dynamic range.
