AWS re:Invent 2022 - Modernizing a megascale database (PRT302)
There has been increased push towards migrating legacy databases to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL-Compatible Edition, as it is a highly performant, cost-effective open-source database. The traditional process of manually reviewing and migrating legacy code is an error-prone and high-effort endeavor. Deloitte’s DataFury is an innovative approach that assesses the legacy source code for SQL patterns in minutes instead of months and estimates the effort and funding required for code redesign. The approach is KPI-driven, extends the AWS Database Freedom program, and automates the modernization of legacy SQL to a highly performant and standardized code base.
