How to Run the Sims Medieval & Sims 3 on a newer Computer
On of the issues I've seen and experienced myself with new machines is always: Can it still run the older games. With games with the Sims 3 engine, it cannot.
There's an easy workaround for that.
Here's the fix scripts:

These scripts have not been writte by me. I found them after digging through the EA support pages and tested and modded them a bit. They might not work for you. They shouldn't harm your computer but he. You do you. I'm not going to be held accountable for what you do on your machine :)
EDIT: There's also a way to do this through the Windows UI as shown on: / @alexrozzatty 's channel. Nicely done over there.
