Creating a website is a challenge for many people. Tech issues, confirming the topic will work, combating failure, trying to find the time to work on the project, these are all challenges many people face. And even once you create a website and finally get over the initial set of hurdles, how do you make your website actually succeed? In today’s video I’m going to explain to you exactly what I do with every website that I create in an effort to show you what it takes to make a successful online business, from start to finish.
1) Complete Keyword Research
a) Use preferred tool to do this. I use Ahrefs personally and like it the most.
i) Also use LongTailPro and combine data to crosscheck in Google sheet

2) Determine How Website Can Make Money
a) At least three revenue channels
i) Ads (always 1)
ii) Affiliate (almost always 2)
iii)Infoproducts, sell leads, create a directory and charge people for listings, dropshipping, membership. etc.
b) Think outside the box, don’t be scared to get creative here.
3) Get Hosting and Domain Name
a) Namecheap for Domain
i) Generalized URL so you can expand later
ii) Always go with .com

b) Get Website Hosting
i) The cheapest version on any host will do
ii) Big brands here aren’t the answer
(1) HostGator
(2) BlueHost
(3) GoDaddy
(4) I prefer Siteground
(a) Scales nicely
(b) Good customer service

4) Setup the Website Theme on Wordpress
a)Free themes are Fine, not a necessary expense

ii) NOT a requirement, but can make a REALLY nice website. Recommend Thrive Architect With It: http://www.onehourprofessor.com/thriv...
iii) Simple is fine, don’t need the best theme ever to start.
5)Claim all Social Profiles, add Analytics and Search Console
a) Don’t even need to be active, just need to have them
6) Focus 100% on Content and NOTHING ELSE
a)Use keyword research in step 1
b) Establish best writing practices and focus on one article template
i) Informational
ii)Buyer Intent
iii) Write First 10 articles
iv) Always use Google Docs
v) Add sitemap to Google Search Console (Yoast creates it for you)
c) Once best practices established, outsource with template and train
i) Pay very careful attention to detail and be picky
ii) Be the editor
iii) Outsource Next 10 articles
d) Hire editor
i) Give best practices doc/training. Be specific, tell the editor you’ll come to them if issues appear.
ii) Have them work directly with writer to establish line of communication
iii) Have editor track all changes they make to writing
iv) Review changes
v) 10 articles
e) Generate as much content as you can afford/able to write
i) I prefer minimum of three articles a week
ii) Once writers comfortable, add another template type of content
7) Do this until you hit 100 articles total. DO NOT GET DISTRACTED.
a) 80% informational
b) 20% buyer intent
8) From there, you can see what works and adjust your strategy
a) I recommend writing in silos.
i) Ex: Pet website - One dog breed at a time
9)Future expansion
a)Google Adsense gets added at 10,000 pageviews monthly
b)Email list integration at 300 uniques a month (10 people a day)
