Developed in Britain, the AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat (formerly known as the Future Lynx and Lynx Wildcat) is a military helicopter currently being sold by Leonardo, an Italian company. It is an enhanced Westland Super Lynx intended for anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, and battlefield utility missions. Common variants have replaced their Lynx Mk.7/8/9 predecessors and are being used by both the British Army and the Royal Navy in British service. The Philippine Navy and the Republic of Korea Navy have both placed orders for the AW159, and it has also been made available to a number of export clients.
