Hiking around and into Kerið crater in Iceland. Kerið is a 3000 year old volcanic crater in Grímsnes area in South Iceland. There are more craters in the area, one right next to Kerið which can be seen in the video. The red color is caused by red volcanic rocks. The crater is belived to once have been a cone volcano which later collapsed under its own weight. The crater is approximately 55 m (180 ft) deep, 170 m (560 ft) wide, and 270 m (890 ft) across. There is parking closeby but most times an entrance fee of 400 isk is charged.
