I was not satisfied with the funky handling and wind susceptibility of my cinewhoops. My theory is that the shorter duct would increase airflow by reducing the pumping loss of pushing air through a long duct. The narrowest part of the duct is at propline and flares at the exit to reduce back pressure.
I ain't gonna lie, but is was pretty sketchy spooling up the motors to 100%! But, my janky rig seems to confirm that short ducts perform just as well as long ducts and may even produce more thrust if designed correctly. Improvements to the rig will be made before I test the enclosed airfoil version of this duct on the Squirt V2.
