Boeing Workers to Strike After Rejecting 25% Pay Hike | Subscribe to Firstpost
Boeing workers in the US have voted to strike after rejecting a contract from the firm that offered a 25% pay increase over four years. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, representing about 30,000 Boeing factory workers in Seattle and Portland, overwhelmingly voted to reject the proposed contract. Approximately 94.6% of workers voted against the offer, and 96% approved the strike. The strike, starting from September 13 midnight , will be the first walkout by Boeing workers since 2008. Boeing has stated it is ready to negotiate a new agreement.
