Some doctors will say that the reason they won’t prescribe T3 medication is because it may cause a heart attack but is this really true? There is some truth to this statement but once you better understand the connection I think you’ll agree that that statement is a little misleading. T3 does put some strain on the heart and if there is existing coronary artery disease then it is theoretically possible that this strain may cause a heart attack much in the same way a stress test might. But this doesn’t mean it was the T3 that caused the heart attack. Instead, it was the underlying heart disease which was unmasked by the T3 medication. And even then it would only occur at very high doses.
