Lake Como (Lago di Como) is the third largest mountain lake in Italy. It is 47km long and 4km wide. It is worth noting that this lake is considered one of the deepest in Europe (410 m). It is not by chance that the lake has a second name - Lario. The lake, as linguists say, is called by the Indo-European language "lario", meaning "deep place". Lake Como is situated in the foothills of the Alps at an altitude of 198 metres. The lake is considered one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Lombardy.
