This situation happens because of a malfunction that occurs in the registry settings. Registry keys prioritize the previous printer driver as the default and prevent the new driver from being set as the default driver. On Windows 7, 8 and 10 operating systems, this is a normal phenomenon. Do not be anxious if you have experienced this mistake. The condition can be remedied by a few tweaks in the settings or in the registry.
The Print-It printers set up on a remote print relay are the majority of the printers in the environment. There was, however, one MFD that was used for printing envelopes. With the universal engine, I could not get the system to recognize the correct paper size. Unless I used a native driver, the printer support company declined to help. In the end, I had to concede defeat and install the driver on the terminal server and use Manage Network Printers under the Resources\Printers node to map the envelope print queue as my regular network printer.

I found that there was no entry for this printer under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Devices after looking at the user registry, although there were entries for all of the Print-It printers (which can be selected as defaults with no issues). The user could then pick it as the default after manually adding a value to this print queue.
