All of the messages from patients with rhinoplasty contain sentences that begin with "- it's been 2 weeks since I had surgery? It's been 1 month? It's been 2 months?". I explain the healing process in detail to my patients who are considering rhinoplasty. However, since I think that I can reach more patients from here, I will explain it in detail here. In my experience, patients who decide on rhinoplasty should accept 2 important points and have surgery. First of all, the recovery period of noses is at least 1 year. Even in thick skin, this period may take up to 2 years. The second most important point is that when this period expires, that is, after 1 year, a minor correction surgery may be required if necessary.
So how do noses heal?
When we say that noses will heal after 1 year, patients imagine their noses to shrink as a big balloon. However, the nose heals differently in different parts. The upper part of the nose, that is, the bone, heals faster. The tip of the nose heals at a different time. Even the right and left sides heal differently, especially according to the skin structure. Because of this different rate of healing, noses sometimes do not look good in the first months. Especially the first 4 months pass like this. In the following months, the noses gradually have a beautiful appearance.
