We thought we were in for a headache fix. But all we needed to do was splice in a new piece of electric fence and replace a few insulators.
My father-in-law noticed the fence was down. We went to check on it and wire was everywhere. Luckily it was just one break in the line which caused the line to recoil and lay everywhere making it look way worse.
We grabbed the pliers and a spool of wire from the barn and the fix took all of 5 minutes. It turned out when the wire broke it took the insulator with it. The plastic was broken so we had to replace it.
We aren't sure what caused the damage, but we think it may have been a branch falling from a storm a day earlier. We had tornado warnings and triple digit winds as the cell moved directly over us. Thankfully there was no funnel.
