Little Island, New York City’s innovative floating park, opened in May 2021, is a unique green space built on the Hudson River near the Meatpacking District. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick, this 2.4-acre park is supported by 132 tulip-shaped concrete pylons, creating a dynamic, undulating landscape. Little Island features winding pathways, lush gardens, rolling lawns, and scenic overlooks offering stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River. It also includes an amphitheater for live performances and is designed as a place for both relaxation and cultural experiences, blending nature with artistic expression in the heart of the city.
