In this video lesson we will learn how to add and subtract linear expressions. We will discover the difference between linear and nonlinear expressions. We will apply what we have learned about like terms to find sums and differences of linear expressions. We will use algebra tiles to model finding sums and differences. Through the use of algebra tiles we will deepen your understanding of equivalent expressions by using visual representation of terms. We will also learn the vertical method to add and subtract expressions. Student practice is embedded in the lesson with modeled exemplar solutions.
