The accumulation of salt deposits on turbine blades can significantly impair turbine efficiency, to the extent that a process bottleneck results leading to increased operational costs. In collaboration with Sasol we investigated and implemented predictive maintenance to their turbine wash scheduling approach to determine the optimal time to wash to prevent bottlenecking.
