After Sirius left Regulus was left all alone in that house. He was forced to be a perfect hair. His mother became even more harsh than before. He also really missed Sirius. Sirius was acting like he didn't exist anymore. Regulus supposed he was dead to him, to say the least. The only person to blame is Regulus himself, maybe for not being brave enough. He was stuck in that house alone. He couldn't enter the library anymore without seeing Sirius bleeding on the floor. Everything reminded him of Sirius. Later, he had to take the dark mark. He didn't want it because he knew it would break James' heart and confirm to Sirius he was just like their parents. He was right. It broke his and Regulus' hearts in the process.
