Welcome to this weeks video in which we continue the mini series Mastering in Studio One 5.
Studio One 5 has recently been released and I thought i'd show you how I use the stock plugins to really enhance a song to create a great sounding Master.
The main stock plugins in Studio One 5 have had a major overhaul and this weeks feature is a look at the Stock Compressor, the RC500 Channel Strip and the Baxandall EQ element of the Fat Channel XT plugin.
In this video I walk you through how to increase the overall volume of your track using the Normalizing Audio function before we then use the stock compressor and the RC500 Channel Strip to stack compression and control dynamics. We can then supplement the compression by using subtle EQ moves using the RC500 and the Fat Channel XT Plugin. By using incremental changes we can really affect the overall sound without ruining the mix and enhance the song by using compression to control dynamics and give the song more body and weight.
