Previously you would make a drop shadow by creating a text, duplicating it, making it dark then sending it back behind the original text. However, we cannot add any blur to the text as we can to images. So you will always have sharp edges.
I'll show you a method of adding a blurring effect to text so that it looks like a realistic drop shadow.
