Convert video to GIF | Tutorial
Let's say you'd like to turn your videos into GIFs with texts, so you can send them to your friends.
Hello everyone, my name is Tim and in this video, I'll show you how to do this with any video in no time, so let's get started.
In this example, we're going to VEED.IO. You can create an account for free. Or, click on the first link in the description to go straight to the website.
Once you're on the homepage, click on Upload Your Video. Then, click on Upload A File. Select your video clip, and click on Open. Now your video is imported.
First, we're going to trim the video a bit. The portion of the video I'd like to keep is me pointing upwards. I going to remove the unnecessary beginning and end.
To trim the video, simply find the video file in the bottom timeline, and simply click on one of the sides, and drag it towards the point you'd like to let the video either start or end.
After that, click on the file and drag it to the left side of the timeline. Then, click on Fit Timeline on the right-hand side to create a better oversight of your video.
Before we add some text, you might want to change the aspect ratio of your GIF.
Simply head over to Settings in the left menu. Under Size, you can choose between multiple dimensions. In this case, I'll choose Square.
To make the video fit, click on the video itself and click on Fill the canvas. Easily reposition and resize the video by clicking and dragging the corner and side options of the video, like so.
As a final touch, we'll be adding some text to the GIF.
Find Text in the left menu Then, for instance, click on Headline Title. Add text in the text box on the left. Easily reposition and resize the text by clicking and dragging the sides and corners.
And under the text box, you can find the options to easily change the font, color, background, spacing, and even add more text.
I'd like to let the text start at the point when I point my fingers up.
You can do this by clicking on the text file in the video, and simply click, drag, extend and shorten the text file in the bottom timeline layer to your liking.
Now I'm satisfied and I'd like to export the GIF.
To export it, find the Export button on the right top corner. Then, click on Export Video. After the video is rendered, click on the toggle option where it says Download MP4.
Make sure your select Download GIF. Then, click on the download button, to download the GIF to your device.
That's how you convert a video to a GIF!
