That before the show became a survival horror series, another network had completely different plans for the comic book adaptation? Despite AMC’s hit show The Walking Dead treading familiar thematic territory, the concept did include the novel approach of seeing the titular walking dead becoming more dead and decomposed with each passing season. However, before the original creator, Frank Darabont eventually secured a deal with AMC to produce the show, rival network NBC wanted an entirely different look. NBC saw the show not so much as a survival story involving police officers, but as a straight-up detective story. The network’s idea for the show would see two detectives solve a zombie-related murder each week. Thankfully, Darabont struck a deal with AMC and his vision for a more faithful adaptation of the original comic-book source material.
