NDI Tools 3.7 was just released which is yet again promising more improvements and a handy little analyser tool.
edit: NDI Tools 3.5+ the output from scan converter has a maximum of 1080p, I only just discovered this. So if you're playing at 1440p or higher like I am, you still only want 1080p base canvas on the stream PC because that's all scan converter is outputting.
I used the scan converter method in this guide for output on the gaming PC.
