when I travel I only want to bring one lens but I don't want to be limited I want a lens that can shoot wide telephoto portraits and even macro that's why I'm using Tamron's brand new 16 - 300 superzoom designed for my aps-c size camera because I don't want to shoot just one kind of photograph I want to shoot them all and this lens has the range to do it a few years ago Tamron pushed the boundaries of what's possible with one lens with their 18 - 270 and now they're pushing them even further with the new 16 - 300 the magnification has been boosted from 15 times to over 18 times zoom power the difference between 16 and 18 millimeters may not sound like much but it's the difference between this shot and this shot
this lens sets a new standard for super zooms it's the first of its kind in the world to start at 16 millimeters I still get great telephoto shots but that with 16 millimeters I can bring even more of the world into view I wouldn't be able to get all these shots with any other zoom lens and Tamron still managed to keep it compact light and portable the 16 of 300 even shoots macro with the minimum focusing distance of just over a foot at 300 millimeters you get a macro ratio of 1 to 2.9 it's also a great portrait lens
