The physical demands of filming The Two Towers and the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy led to inevitable injuries on set. Sean Astin (Sam) cut his foot on glass, Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) broke his toes, and Orlando Bloom (Legolas) cracked a rib falling off a horse. Despite the pain, Orlando returned to set promptly. His complaints and subsequent rib jokes from co-stars made for humorous moments on set.
