My Brain During A Perfect Clear - God Eater 3
Man, I had fun editing this one.
Not really a meme, but its what the game looks like to me when I'm going for a JG Perfect Clear.
I'm too old, but I probably have some degree of chuuni.
In a JG Perfect Clear, the more you Just Guard, the more the pressure stacks up to not lose focus and not let even make a small mistake result in chip damage. Its stressful because you have to keep the flame of playing at a high level throughout a run.
When its late in the run and you've guarded most of the attacks, it starts to become hard to not play passively. This is because every JG attempt is a huge chance to make a mistake and you've been nurturing a really flashy run and you want to pull through til the end and call it a JG Perfect Clear.
Its like you're walking home from the bank after having withdrawn your entire life savings and you're really scared you are about to get robbed by any damn thing.
JG Perfect Clears are difficult. Most people can't even guard half of an Aragami's attacks and now you're setting out to block every single attack consecutively. That's why you can sit in 4 hour recording sessions for 3 days straight and come up with nothing. Its frustrating. Its painstaking.
Going back to the bank analogy, I could easily triple the amount of videos on my channel if I uploaded all the amount of times I got robbed at the end of an almost JG Perfect Clear.
But I steel myself and I keep trying no matter how long it takes. No matter how many attempts it takes. Because I want to upload the sickest and most crispy videos. So you know when you're watching a BK vid, it feels like you're watching something special.
Now, to meet all of these requirements, I activate my powers of chuuni to start looking at the game with what you see in the video. I don't have an HP & OP bars. What are those things? Useless. I have a Concentration Gauge, Style Rank and Just Guard Counter.
Concentration Gauge:
-The purpose of this is to maintain a high level of play throughout the run
-Fills up on every JG.
-Missing Devours and big attacks reduces the gauge.
-Getting hit completely empties the gauge.
-When the gauge is completely filled, I enter 'Complete Concentration' mode.
Complete Concentration Mode (This can also be refered to as 'The Zone'):
-Usually triggers after 10 Just Guards.
-I try to force myself to have increased focus, reaction, prediction and precision abilities.
-I do this by recalling various things that piss me off and push that energy and anger into trying to playing as the best possible version of myself.
-Lasts for about 1min
-There are some things I can only do when I'm in Complete Concentration mode
-Getting hit or making any single mistake will immediately end the mode and empty the Concentration Gauge.
Style Rank:
-The purpose of this is to grade the quality of the video while I'm recording it.
-Rank increases with JGs and any stylish actions
-Getting hit, missing attacks or taking chip damage reduces style
-I usually don't upload anything below an A rank if its a JG Perfect Clear
Just Guard counter:
-I count JGs to try to unlock Complete Concentration Mode
-I stop counting after 10
-This is used to determine the overall quality of the video and whether its a JG Perfect Clear.
Now that I'm done embarrassing myself, does this stuff actually work?
Kinda.
If you get really inspired by Shonen Anime or Vergil in Devil May Cry and you have a really wild imagination, yeah, it can work. By thinking I was in some hypersensitive concentration state, I was able to pull of a Guard Cancel to Drawback x Dive JG in an actual Perfect Clear.
If you have any idea how hard that is to do in a JG Perfect Clear, you might invent a Concentration Gauge of your own www
