finding the perfect smart doorbell can be a difficult task as I keep finding shortcomings with every smart doorbell I've bought so far. I did buy these with my own money and all opinions are my own. I'm trying to find the perfect video doorbell but it seems that every brand has it's own issues. If Ring would let you use the PoE and store locally via RTSP without having to workaround when they push updates then it could be a great doorbell but that for me is what is holding it back. I also looked at doorbird but they are too expensive and have a few design problems where people think the IR LED bubble is the button to push and end up damaging the unit. So even if I could find one used Audi affordable price there is a high probability that delivery people with damage it overtime on accident. What I want is the best video doorbell without subscription at an affordable price. It needs Ethernet at a minimum but would prefer PoE (Power Over Ethernet) because I want to stream via RSTP to blue iris 24/7. I do plan on making a followup video as well after I determine potential workarounds for both and will link in the description once I finish that video as well.
