How to Make Cōng Yóu Bǐng (蔥油餅) | Easy Chinese Scallion Onion Pancake Cooking Hack!
I hope you all are in good health during this truly unprecendented time. While sheltering in place, I have definitely been cooking a lot of food that reminds me of home. And I've also been experimenting with easier ways to achieve comforting foods with cooking hacks, and I think I found one when making these scallion onion pancakes!
It truly started when I was making jook in my instant pot. By the way, I started a separate channel on Instagram to share my daily meals, favorite snacks, and family recipes, if you want to follow. And my easy instant pot jook recipe is on there!

Continuing the story, I was not about to have jook without being able to pair it with a savory, salty, flaky, and crispy scallion onion pancake—a classic pairing!
And without wanting to make the dough from scratch, it totally hit me when I was exploring the biscuit aisle and YUP, you guessed it—Pillsbury Flaky Layers Original Biscuit Dough! Already flaky, already buttery...just need to add scallions!
Seeing that I had such an unexpected, but wonderful response to the video showcasing how my family makes joong, I thought I'd continue putting these cooking videos on this channel.
