Chess Records was founded in 1950 by brothers Leonard and Phil Chess in Chicago. One of the greatest record labels in history, Chess Records changed the face of music and introduced the world legendary artists including Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. The first record released by Chess Records was "My Foolish Heart" by Gene Ammons in June 1950.
