QNAP TS-h886 uncomfortable noise level
Newer made QNAP TS-h886 file servers are definitely more loud than early samples of the same type. It is slightly louder than the officially allowed noise limit for an office in Germany (in a 6x5m room). A Lenovo P620 dual Xeon workstation under normal workload is not audible next to this thing in even on standby load. The internal throttling of the CPU and chassis fans of the QTS doesn't change anything, it is the little 250W power supply.
