A weak cool front will slide into the area Friday, and it will bring a low chance of some spotty showers with it.
The weekend forecast could change significantly depending on a developing system we're monitoring in the Gulf of Mexico. It's a potential concern for Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida from October 4-7 (this Friday to next Monday).
The National Hurricane Center is currently tracking Hurricane Isaac and Tropical Storm Joyce in the Atlantic. Neither storm poses a threat to the United States. The next names on the storm list are “Kirk” and “Leslie.” “Kirk” may form in the far eastern Atlantic by Monday night.
If it does, the new Gulf storm will be named “Leslie” unless another rapidly developing storm in the eastern Atlantic forms first.
