The government has proposed two options – one to conduct exams for major subjects only and two to hold exams for all subjects but exam time should be 1.5 hours instead of 3 hours and change questions pattern to objective questions and short questions type only. Many States, however, have demanded a third option. So, meeting is over without consensus. States have demanded like Zero exam or conduction of all exam after full vaccination.
The union minister-level meeting also discussed conducting entrance exams including NEET 2021 & Jee Mains. As students appearing for these exams are 17-18 years of age, states demand for getting these students vaccinated before holding exams. NEET 2021 & jee Mains should be postponed till that time.
