1. Use components with mounting holes
2. Use calipers to measure and recreate components for reference
3. Don't stress about software, I use Tinkercad
4. Don't do big prints, make small components and screw them together.
5. Stick to a consistent screw size
6. Remember to size up one of the holes for screwing a bit so it snugs down properly
7. Use heat set inserts if screwing into plastic isn't strong enough
8. Keep in mind layer lines impact strength
9. Don't be afraid to use metal or rubber pieces
10. Keep an inspiration board for design ideas.
