NEW INC is the first museum-led cultural incubator and was conceived by the New Museum in 2013. It is a not-for-profit platform that furthers the Museum’s ongoing commitment to new art and new ideas.
Our program is for people exploring new ideas at the intersection of art, technology and design. Operating as both a shared workspace and professional development program, NEW INC provides creative practitioners with tools for building sustainable practices and launching projects that impact, promote, and amplify culture. NEW INC fosters a creative ecosystem that generates cultural value, not just capital value.
Members are an interdisciplinary cohort of artists, designers, technologists, futurists, and creative entrepreneurs chosen each year for their experience, vision, and ambition. Through panels, workshops, lunch lectures, office hours, and other programming, our members work with experts and mentors to glean invaluable guidance and support as they grow and launch their projects.
Today’s presenters represent the breadth of creative practice at NEW INC. From climate change, to urban design, to data infrastructure, to global fashion, to legacy planning, to interactive experiences, to building pipelines and protocols for equitable participation in culture, our members are collaborating with top brands, chefs, artists, architects and city leadership to bring the next wave of creative ideas to life.
