Improving your Hondas MPG with a Performance Air Filter

In this video I take the competition and go head to head in a fuel efficiency test to see if a performance air filter will improve your fuel economy.

The test is done in 2 rounds with 87 octane fuel from Costco.
88 miles each test and two clicks of the pump.

Drive details:

The AEM drop in air filters first Test used 3.431 gallons during an average 59 degree drive and the second test used 3.329 gallons while the drive averaged 62 degrees. Test 1 averaged 60.6 mph and Test 2 averaged 57.8 mph.


The AEM Performance Filter used 3.022 gallons on the first test @ 71 degrees and the second test used 3.336 gallons @ 71.5 degrees. Test 1 averaged 59.6 mph and Test 2 averaged 58.8 mph.


The OEM and our Control used 3.469 gallons on the first test @ 62.5 degrees and 3.354 gallons on the second test @ 64.5 degrees. Test 1 averaged 57.9 mph and Test 2 averaged 59.5 mph.


And finally the Takeda Air filter used 3.449 gallons on the first test @ 66 degrees and 3.395 gallons on the second test @ 68 degrees. Test 1 averaged 59.1 mph and Test 2 averaged 57.5 mph.
