Golobulus turns Cobra Commander into a snake-human hybrid | GI Joe Movie (1987)
Golobulus 👁️ punishes Cobra Commander 🐍 by transforming him into a reptile-human hybrid in the GI Joe movie 📼 from 1987.
Cobra Commander opens by saying, “Fool! You haven’t got the BET (Broadcast Energy Transmitter), you don’t even know where it is. Your plan is laughable 😂.” Golobulus, voiced by🎙️ Burgess Meredith, replies, “But your punishment will not be.” Cobra Commander responds, “Punishment? What about my trial 👨⚖️?” Golobulus replies, “It’s over and the verdict is guilty. Guilty of the one unforgivable crime, failure.”
Nemesis Enforcer comes over with a strange looking plant 🪴. Cobra Commander calls out, “No! No! Not the spores! I’m a citizen of Cobra-La! NOT THE SPORES!” Nemesis Enforcer holds Cobra Commander’s head close to the spores. The pod opens up and the spores infect Cobra Commander, causing him to burst through his uniform and his skin to turn reptilian green.
Golobulus orders Nemesis Enforcer to, “Throw this worthless sewage into the abyss of oblivion.” Serpentor intervenes and orders that Cobra Commander be put with the Joe prisoners so they can see the fate that awaits them. Pythona likes the poetic simplicity. Golobulus thinks it’s a bit dramatic but orders Nemesis Enforcer to comply.
What did you guys think of this scene? This of course spawned the recurring line spoken by Cobra Commander, “I was once a man...”.
